Hey there everybody...I'm not sure how to start this off, so I'll just jump right into it, okay? Cool...
We here at the EDENPARK camp are sad to announce that our good buddy, hilarious funny man, and guitar extraordinaire, Conor "Ishmael Dummy" McCann is leaving the band. There's a number of reasons why (none of which concern you, Nosey McWantstoknowstuff!), but we fully understand and support Conor's decision. It'll be tough to see him leave, but it's nice to know that we have a few years of good shows, good times, and many memorable moments under our belts with him!
As you may be wondering, our last show with Conor will be Sunday, July 31st at Champion Ship in Lemoyne, PA. Also playing is Cranked Up! (ex-Violent Society, Bomb Squadron), Take Cover, and 1 more TBA. Show starts at 6pm and is $6. If you can, please come out and kick it with us and say bye to Conor and have some fun and stuff!
So with Conor leaving the band, what does this mean for EDENPARK??? Well, after a week or so of uncertainty, we decided to keep the band going! This decision was hugely impacted by the replacement guitarist who decided to rejoin the band after a 3+ year hiatus. "Rejoin?" you might ask...That's right, rejoin. "Who could it be???" you might ask...Well, read on...
Keith "Alexander" Dattisman has rejoined EDENPARK on lead guitar! As you may remember, Keith played with us a few years back, even appearing on the "Welcome To EDENPARK" ep, before abruptly leaving and being replaced by Conor. Well, since then, we've all mended our ties with Keith, both as friends and as musicians. So it only seemed logical for us to approach him with our situation. And luckily, Keith had been itching to play music again, so in a bass-ackawards way, the timing couldn't have been better and everything worked out!
With this change in the lineup, however, comes some probable downtime for us (not that we've been playing a huge amount of shows anyway, which hopefully that will change!). This will definitely be one of the fastest and smoothest transitions we've ever had though, so we won't be down for long! This lineup change also means that we won't be touring at the end of August as we had planned, so we aplogize if any of you were hoping to see us. We'll get up and down the east coast at some point though, don't worry!
Sooooo, what else is there to report? Well, ummm...nothing really, I guess. Oh yeah, thanks to everybody that came out to the show on June 30th at Liberty Firehall! Even though it was a last minute deal, a fair amount of kids came out and rocked with us, so that was awesome! I'm working on uploading a video clip or two from the show, so be on the lookout (courtesy of dude from Our Time, who's name I don't know offhand)! Actually, I guess there really isn't anywhere to "lookout" for it right now since our website is under construction. But I'll try to remember to include links in the next newsletter I send out, and I'll mention it on our Myspace page.
Anyway, I think that's about all for now. I hope to see you all at Champion Ship (or atleast those within a reasonable distance) on July 31st!
